This is something I’d mess around with as a techie, but can’t figure out why anyone would buy Windows 7 only to have it run like XP when native XP performs much better. You forgot to look at the supported chipsets and notice the the OP’s chipset is not in the supported chipset list. It worked for me. Try installing the XP driver in compatability mode. Each of the files has a specific purpose, as long as when programming an application you put the right command it will automatically detect the specific file that it needs.
