I am trying to fix an old ‘Tiny’ computer with the above board. Sorry to be a pain but this is driving me crazy and become more of a challenge to get it to work! If there are a number of sockets, have a careful look at the connectors. It doesnt have to have it, you’ll still hear sound. When I try to reinstall the driver I get an error that windows was unable to locate the driver. However, the sound still does not work and the ‘driver’ is still reported as not installed!

The set u seemed to work, no errors reported. The tiny ones will fit only one way in the housing on the motherboard. This is a gateway ahdio for windowsxp so not sure if would work anyway. If so take them out, and install while in SafeMode. I have downloaded the software and run set up. Tried this and still no luck.
Could it be that zudio chipset is not working properly? Maybe this driver can be available: Still get message ‘windows was unable to locate driver for this device’!
If you are still using Win98 then you more than likely will need the audio cable if you want to listen to audio CDs.
I have checked and I definitely have the creative 61556 chipset code: These operating systems can read audio CDs as digital data and so it will use the IDE cable and then it will be converted to analog by the soundcard.
Thats the only 4 pin connector for a cdrom. You should be able to get your drivers here. Or do you mean the IDE cable???
Do you have any expansion PCI cards? Thanks for all the suggestions and support, I know it would be easier to buy and new PC but I feel I know my old computer much better now. Can you advise on the installation of drivers ie do I just run set up from the dowloaded file done this and doesn’t seem to work or do I need to locate where the drivers are saved to and point to the specific driver if so, where would this be and what is the driver name?
Seems to me that I need a specific driver for es for windows 98 not windows 98 se. There are 3 possible slots, a green one, a yellow one and a black one all next to each other.
There have been a number of different, incompatible, connectors used for the analogue audio output. The device status reads ‘The drivers for this device are not installed Uadio 28 ‘.

On boot up the computer recognises new hardware but this is only described as Ausio Multimedia audio device with the driver not installed.
Or do you mean the power connector?? Thanks, done this and pointed to win95 folder where the zip extracted to. Is it a Creative ES? Please login or register. It doesnt have to have it, you’ll still hear sound. Sorry to be a pain but this me driving me crazy and become more of a challenge to get aueio to work! When I try to reinstall the driver I get an error that windows was unable to locate the driver.
Which will also have a 1 at one end of it. I have run through system restore and loaded windows 98 again and all is working other than the audio device.
